Ha leads Korea to narrow 53 point loss
Too bad the Bucks don't have Team Lithuania on next year's schedule. Their lowly-touted reserve big man Ha Seung-Jin (or Seung Jin-ha as the People's Daily refers to him) blew up for 20 points against them. However, when matched against actual NBA competition, he produced zero points and three rebounds in 12 minutes of action as his team, South Korea, suffered their worst defeat since North Korea nearly drove them out of the Pusan perimeter and into the Sea of Japan, 116-63 to Team USA last night. The night was not a complete disaster for Ha Seung-Jin, however. He could take solace in the fact that he was not "Frederic Weised" by anyone on the high-flying American squad. Small victories are what keep him going.

NBA fantasy basketball brings out the best among fans
NBA fantasy basketball brings out the best among fansFantasy basketball is highly exciting, and has millions glued to their fantasy score sheets than on the actual games. The greatest glamour is associated with NBA fantasy basketball that has kept basketball fans obsessed since the late eighties. The start of each season witnesses millions of Americans becoming members of NBA leagues. They then behave like owners of their own NBA teams, deciding which players to draft, trade off or bench. NBA itself promotes these leagues in a big way. Its site provides extensive information about each player, teams and coaches. Not only this, it hosts incisive analyses and commentaries on each game to help its fantasy league players. The league players need to take several key decisions before joining aMore on NBA Fantasy Basketball

The NBA...it's BLOGGGGGG---TASTIC!!!!
The NBA (in an effort to drum up interest for USA Basketball) and Adidas (to market shoes and apparel) are making their players join us geeks in the blogosphere this summer, and to be honest, we couldn't be happier. Let's take a look at some of the NBA summer blogging out there :Joe Johnson, Brad Miller, Antawn Jamison, Chris Bosh : These four players' blog is about as dull as your typical NBA interview session. Plenty of clichés; nothing of consequence is written or expressed; matter of fact, we had a hard time reading through most of the nonsense. Here are the low..er..highlights :Probably the most important thing is us just learning the international game and the rules. I'’m not so sure we are going to have to make any big adjustments. I think we just have to play our game. We can't be too worried about anything else. Just come out and play basketball the way it is supposed to be played. We can'’t be nervous and jittery. If we play hard and smart, there is no way we should lose a game...This is a real prestigious thing right here, and I can'’t wait to really get the intensity up. (Johnson, July 19-2006)Pretty much since we got to Vegas and through our meetings last night and this morning, it has been made clear to us the importance of putting this group together and what it means to not only the NBA, the organizations and the fans, but to our country. We understand that this is a very important opportunity for all of us and we're all fighting for that position on the team. So far, Coach K and his staff have been phenomenal in terms of expressing what they want out of us offensively and defensively, and I think that the group of guys selected will seize the opportunity. (Jamison, July 19-2006)To have a chance to play for Coach K is great. In the meeting last night, he was telling a funny story and then it ties right into a big motivational speech. It's neat to see how much of a motivator he is. Listening to him for the first time, after 10 minutes, it was like "Man, I can't wait to play for this guy." (Miller, July 19-2006)It's very special to me. I've been watching USA Basketball for a long time and to finally be a part of it, I don't want to waste this opportunity. I just want to make sure I make the team first and then I'll really treat it special. Right now, I'm just in mindframe that I have to make it. (Bosh, July 19-2006)Kevin Garnett's blog : Intense. Brutally honest. Uncompromising. Emotional. Naked. The blog is a perfect representation of the man. Almost too perfect, in fact. The words practically fly off the screen and hit you in the face like a KG elbow would undoubtedly do if you stupidly dared to box him out. Some highlights:Many of you know my signature shoe from last season; well we took that shoe and made a hot version just for Asia! The shoe is black, red and has a laser etched dragon that runs the length of the shoe, it's hot! (July 14-2006)The Great Wall is one thing you hear about, but to see it is a wwwhhhooollleee different thing. (July 14-2006)Once we got there the fans had a lot of love for me. The gym was hot! adidas did this sick stage that was crazy. (July 14-2006)I gave away my jersey and shoes so I walked out half naked, but they showed me so much love it was the least I could do. (July 14-2006)Being on the wall made think how far I have come from South Carolina, Chicago to Beijing. Basketball has truly blessed me. (July 14-2006)Our hotel was crazy! I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this hotel is by far the best I have ever stayed in. The room was so 2010. (July 15-2006)There were a lot of clouds and it was windy, so the bumpy landing started off the excitement ... A lot of the skyscrapers are less then ten years old. Millions of sky scrappers. (July 15-2006)This shoe is so cold; it has the new adidas Bounce technology. On both of the shoes soles I did a special dedication to both South Carolina and Chicago. (July 15-2006)From here we went to the airport for our six hour flight to Delhi. The flight was crazy, about an hour or so outside of Delhi we ran into a storm. I was playing Xbox and everyone else was sleeping until the plane literally stated bouncing around. (July 16-2006)Never make preconceived perceptions, always go off reality. I always say that because when we landed I was tired and wiped out. I tried to soak up the atmosphere. It was very different then the states. I was startled by the soldiers with the AK 47s, even though they were just as a precaution. (July 17-2006)I ran into two fans that drove nine hours to see me. Wow (enough said)! (July 17-2006)Let me give it to you raw; India is a huge country filled with tons of poverty, lots of poverty, but many beautiful people. (July 17-2006)As we landed, it looked very similar to other airports -- busy, people, etc. I went straight to the adidas flagship store. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE. As I pulled up, the fans chanted my name, took photos, crazy! Typical KG style, I had to say, "Hi" to everyone, and throw up the peace sign and hang loose sign (my new thing). (July 17-2006)PPPEEEAAACCCEEE! (July 15-2006)HHHOOOLLLEEERRR! (July 18-2006)If you're not thoroughly enjoying the KG era, there's something seriously wrong with you. We really don't know what else to tell you at this point. Garnett fucking rules!Should anything interesting happen on any of these NBA players' blogs--like if KG lands in an other city with MILLIONS of skyscrapers--we'll be on it like white on rice, making sure to bring you up to speed. Now, if we could only get Delonte to start updating his diary again ...HHHOOOLLLEEERRR!

Jacksonville News
Indie film being shot in area -- starring some people I never heard of. I just hope they show some good parts of Jacksonville and don't make it look like a hick backwater. Look, Jacksonville is gaining in notoriety: Jacksonville singled out as state's most dangerous city -- "Per capita, Jacksonville has had more murders than New York City and Los Angeles." I have some kind of sick habit of moving from one murder capital to another. Michael Jordan look-alike sues NBA super star -- I'm sure you've seen this guy. Is this guy for real? He looks nothing like him.
